Training and Instruction Offered

UDC offers a wide range of training and instruction tailored to meet your specific needs. Courses are offered in any configuration with the understanding that instruction is more beneficial to the individual as it can be structured to meet each person's needs. Training locations vary depending on the course offered; however, most courses are taught in the client's residence and on local live fire range facilities. Clients can request any variation of the courses listed below and UDC will design and develop training and instruction to meet the specific needs of each client.

Winning Deadly Encounters

Winning Deadly Encounters is a course designed for those who not only want to survive a violent encounter but win-decisively. Each client will become familiar with the attributes of the modern warrior and how to apply those to daily living in preparation for the day when your life depends on destroying the enemy and winning the engagement. Each client will have the opportunity to learn what will happen at the time of trial both psychologically and physically and those tools that will enable them to win the battle and survive the aftermath. The confidence achieved upon course completion will enable the client to become self-aware, thus better able to avoid confrontation and if tested-win. Minimum course length: 2 hours. Course fee: $60

Residential Defense Evaluation and Planning

The Residential Security Evaluation provides the client an opportunity to access the safety level of their residence and those daily practices, both outside and within the residence, which may lead to victimization. Each client will become thoroughly familiar with the state of their residence and their capabilities to defend themselves within it. Each client will be provided with an in depth security analysis identifying the strengths and weaknesses of their residential defense as well as a habitual pattern analysis. Upon course completion the client will have a specific understanding of those steps they must take to insure their safety, coming, going and within the residence. Minimum course length: 2 hours. Course fee: $60 per hour.

Urban Observation and Counter-Measures

The Urban Observation and Counter-Measures course is specifically designed to raise personal awareness and prevent victimization. Each client will become thoroughly familiar with the relationship between criminal and victim and how to deter criminal actions on behalf of a possible attacker. This course can be tailored to meet the specific needs of the client and their surroundings. Upon course completion the client will have a detailed understanding of those environmental dynamics that surround them on a daily basis and which, when calculated, decide if they become a victim. The client will be able to identify those scenarios and factors that can lead to a violent encounter with a criminal and take precautions to increase their safety level. Minimum course time: 1 hour. Course fee: $60 per hour.

Personal Weaponless Defense

The Personal Weaponless Defense course is designed to for those who desire to learn the necessities of personal defense in any environment. Each client will become familiar with basic hand to hand combat and weaponless defense systems, including firearm retention and take-away. The techniques each client will learn in this course will prove invaluable in defending your home, your family and yourself. This course incorporates many different styles of mixed martial arts into a complete self defense system allowing you to quickly and definitively defend yourself and destroy the enemy. Minimum course time: 1-2 hours. Course fee: $60 per hour.

Tactical Handgun Defense

The Tactical Handgun Defense course is designed specifically for those who desire to learn the basic dynamics of close quarter handgun defense against an offensive intruder or combatant. Each client will become thoroughly familiar with the benefits and drawbacks of handgun defense and how to utilize a handgun in residential and personal defense. Each client will have the opportunity to train with the handgun in static dry-fire conditions and after achieving competency in safe firearm practices apply those concepts learned in live-fire scenarios. The course can be specifically tailored to meets the needs of the client and is wholly dependant upon the client’s proficiency in handgun tactics. Upon course completion the client will have a general understanding of the handgun and its role in residential and personal defense, handgun selection, safe handgun practices, security and deployment of the handgun as well as offensive and defense handgun tactics. Minimum course time: 3 hours. Course fee: $60 per hour for static instruction, $90 per hour for live-fire instruction.

Tactical Shotgun Defense

The Tactical Shotgun Defense course is designed specifically for those who desire to learn the basic dynamics of close quarter shotgun defense against an offensive intruder or combatant. Each client will become thoroughly familiar with the benefits and drawbacks of shotgun defense and how to utilize a shotgun in residential and personal defense. Each client will have the opportunity to train with the shotgun in static dry-fire conditions and after achieving competency in safe firearm practices apply those concepts learned in live-fire scenarios. The course can be specifically tailored to meets the needs of the client and is wholly dependant upon the client’s proficiency in shotgun tactics. Upon course completion the client will have a general understanding of the shotgun and its role in residential and personal defense, shotgun selection, safe shotgun practices, security and deployment of the shotgun as well as offensive and defense shotgun tactics. Minimum course time: 3 hours. Course fee: $60 per hour for static instruction, $90 per hour for live-fire instruction.

In this time of uncertainty, responsible citizens must take it upon themselves to legally provide for their own protection. The most important governmental action that can be taken is to provide for the security of it's citizens. However, the United States government, as well as those state and municipal governments where each of us resides, have focused their policies and procedures to provide for the social welfare instead of concentrating on its most basic duty to protect us not only from attacks originating outside the U.S. but also from those attacks that occur in our cities on a daily basis.

For most of us in the near future, we will not be directly affected by an attack on U.S. soil by a foreign entity; however, I fear that day may be drawing near. Rather, we as responsible law-abiding citizens, must take it upon ourselves to defend not only ourselves but also our families and communities from the violence that rages every day on our streets.

So how do we do this? Let me begin by stating I unconditionally support local law enforcement agencies and their efforts but we must understand the battle they are up against. Law enforcement agencies are inherently a re-active entity and unable to prevent certain violent crimes. Most crime is committed when an opportunity arrises that the offender seeks to take advantage of. So therefore, we must make efforts to protect ourselves from crime by reducing the opportunity we provide to these criminal opportunists.

Urban Defense Concepts is about much more than avoiding those who seek to do harm. UDC recognizes that circumstances are not always optimum and those situations may arise when you are called to provide for your own defense. You must prepare yourself phyisically and mentally for this time of trial. You must make a choice today to not only survive an attack but win the engagement with violence of action.

I truely believe that with the proper training and attitude you can avoid those situations where a criminal may seek to take advantage of you. However, I also believe that we must be prepared for any circumstance we may find ourselves in.

What does this mean? It means making an effort to better understand your surroundings and preparing yourself for those situations you may find yourself in. It means getting the training and tools you need to be effective in todays violent world. It means dedicating yourself to a new attitude regarding your community and those within it. It means developing the presona that says I can defend myself if I need to.

To defend yourself you must be on the offensive. Preparation and planning will often suffice; however, when the time comes and you are thrusted into action, you must attack the attacker and subdue their criminal intentions.
